TOTEM COMMUNICATIONS NAMES CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER AND PROPOSITION DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
New Senior Executives to Lead Company's Continued Growth
MANCHESTER, UK 21 April 2004 - Totem Communications today announced it has named Graham Sladin as the Chief Technical Officer and Barney Brown as the Proposition Development Director of the company.
The primary objective for these appointments was to ensure Totem recruited a focused management team who had the experience and expertise to ensure they achieve their channel strategy.
Both Sladin and Brown will report to Chris Brassington, CEO, and will be based in Manchester. Effective immediately Graham Sladin will be responsible for technical consultancy, product development, operations and IT. Sladin's primary objective is to ensure that Totem continue to offer industry leading products and services that provide real business benefits over a highly resilient fault tolerant network. Sladin has been promoted from Technical Consultancy Manager at Totem where for the past year he has contributed to the recent growth of the company.
With over 20 years in the telecoms industry, Sladin has a wealth of experience in engineering, product and consultancy having held key positions at Norweb Telecom, Siemens, Cable & Wireless, and BT for the delivery of business critical projects. Prior to joining Totem Sladin provided freelance consultancy on topics such as network and product development to both telco and enterprise clients which included NTL, Scoot and BT.
Barney Brown will be responsible for developing and driving Totem's service proposition and strategy, building on and enhancing customer and partner relationships. He will be proactively supporting the sales, product and marketing strategy by taking the responsibility for all marketing activities. Brown will also manage product development and pricing related activities. He gained his 10-years account management experience in several direct and channel related roles at QAS Limited, Compuware and AEA Technology. At Compuware Brown was head of partner acquisition and development. Partners acquired included IBM, EDS, SchlumbergerSema, Xansa, ATOSOrigin and SCC. He was involved in direct new business wins including Boots, Alliance & Leicester, Britannic Assurance and Littlewoods. Brown's role is new and has been created to grow business through the channel in line with Totem's new service proposition.
